Last week, JSCo and its development partners (Devine & Gong, Inc. and Ridge Point Non-Profit Housing Corporation) welcomed California Governor Edmund (“Jerry”) Brown, San Francisco Mayor Ed Lee, Oakland Mayor Libby Schaaf, Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti and numerous other elected officials (including State Treasurer John Chiang, State Senate President pro Tempore Kevin de Leon, State Senator Scott Weiner and State Assemblyman David Chiu) to Hunters View for the official signing ceremony of 15 important state housing bills that will finance, expedite and incentivize the production of much-needed affordable and market-rate housing in California.  It was a beautiful day for the ceremony and culminated MANY years of hard work by housing advocates in support of these critical bills.

“The new funds generated by these bills will replenish the state’s proven affordable housing programs and jump-start many, many projects that are ready to get going and will make a real impact on the state’s housing affordability crisis; at the same time, their regulatory changes will help get shovels in the ground and reduce the time and expense of providing critically-needed affordable housing for struggling California families,” stated Jack Gardner, President and CEO of JSCo.
