As a registered architect and licensed general contractor, Dan Levine – Senior VP of JSCo’s Construction & Maintenance Services (CMS) Division – provides clients with architecture, owners’ representation, capital improvement and construction management services. A project for which Dan was architect – Community HousingWork’s “Azusa Apartments” – was recently honored with a “triple crown” of housing awards, including SCANPH’s “Best Multifamily Project of the Year,” Affordable Housing Finance’s “Reader’s Choice – Best Preservation Project” and the Affordable Housing Tax Credit Coalition’s “Charles Edson Tax Credit Excellence Award.” As Affordable Housing Finance magazine put it, “the $31.1 million project included critical renovations at an aging property that had not seen any rehabilitation. The result has created a new ‘sense of place’ and a more sustainable development for residents.” Following rehab, the property has seen a 27% reduction in energy demand and a 34% reduction in water use. Kudos to the entire team, including Dan and Ivette Vela, the CMS Architectural staff and Community HousingWorks!
